The Times They Are A-Changin' a song written and sung by Bob Dylan, which is also considered a poem. This was written in 1964. While this song obtained change for the most selfless causes, which include civil rights, ending war, etc, its overall meaning relies on the idea that the times are shifting and things are changing rapidly. Dylan has a lot of tones in this song. He starts off relaxed and goes into anger and ends off slightly calm. The sixties were a time of drastic change not only with the civilians but also for the government. When I first read this poem I was a bit confused as to what the artist was trying to point out. But then I went in depth, stanza by stanza and understood the poem's actual meaning. I would definitely recommend this poem, not only for it's strong meaning but also for it's main purpose. :)
